Alesci's of South Euclid

Alesci's is the east-side counterweight to Kaufmann's: a classic Italian-American butcher and specialty market that has been on Mayfield Road for six decades. The meat case is small but deep — house-made Italian sausage (sweet, hot, and fennel), veal cutlets pounded to order, porchetta on weekends, and a full lineup of fresh and cured Italian pork.

The shop is also a full salumeria and pantry, which is what most of the neighborhood actually comes for: prosciutto sliced to order, a wall of dried pasta, imported olive oils, and the best cannoli shells in the area (they'll fill them for you if you ask).
